A new Paris boutique devoted to men’s and women’s wear opened its doors Saturday, 12 April 2014 on rue Marbeuf, just a few meters from the world-famous avenue des Champs-Elysées. This fifth store in the fashion capital cements Vilebrequin’s place as the leader in high-end swimwear.
This new boutique is conceived as a St-Tropez art of living ambassy to provide a warm welcome to a French and international clientele. Inside, the white and azure blue inspired by Mediterranean buildings dominate, enhancing the light that bathes the space through the facade’s large windows.
To this chic and summery palette are added subtle sand tones, which give the finishing touch to a place where everything speaks of travel and faraway beaches. The driftwood shelf supports correspond with the pale oak parquet flooring and the white pebbles arranged at the base of the windows. Cloud-like mobiles float in the air.
The changing rooms at the back of the store are like real beach huts. The zenithal lighting overhead on the wooden ceiling projects beams of light onto the walls in the manner of the sun’s rays. The history of the label founded in 1971 is recounted to shoppers by a wall of photographs ans illustrations.
The space’s welcoming and the laid-back atmosphere gives a pleasant foretaste of vacation whether for those heading to the beach or those dreaming about it during their visit.
The first 300 clients will each receive a suncare set as a gift in order to celebrate the start of the summer season and the inauguration of this new location.
This opening comes on the heels of other recent openings in France (rue du Commandant André in Cannes, reopenings in Saint Germain and La Baule, as well as a pop-up on the 3rd floor of Galerie Lafayette Homme). Internationally, a number of other stores will also open their doors before summer (including Rome Babuino, Notting Hill, Las Vegas, Seoul).
Store address: 29 rue Marbeuf, Paris 8th
