AUTHENTIC Undeniably British, indisputably Fred Perry. The Authentic collection celebrates the spirit of originality by offering classic product without complication.
This Spring/Summer ‘16, the Men’s Authentic collection is as sharp and honest as ever. Inspiration is taken as always from our archive of sportswear and subcultural classics to produce a distinctive collection. A bomber stripe setting has been introduced to collars across Fred Perry shirts, woven shirting and jackets to update classic styles.
A blue tonal DPM camo sits across pique shirts, woven shirts and is featured on panelled pockets and cut-and-sewn panelling. As well as a raw Indigo inspired story, a nod to Fred’s working class roots in Stockport, a variety of iconic styles feature a brass button finish. Original Fred Perry Sportswear styles from the archives have inspired silhouettes in the collection, classic zip-through cardigans and long sleeved polo shirts are based on these as well as featuring archival textures.
Panels of waffle and Argyle knit appear across the range. More directional styles come from a twist on our heritage, jacquard polka dots have been woven into shirting, and Gingham has been deconstructed and blended with Tartan to create an entirely modern check. Regimental Tartans such as Ogilvy, Campbell and Macleod feature across sharp shirting styles. Modernist outerwear stands out from the collection, from the technical bomber made from Swiss Schoeller fabric to the Caban, all outerwear styles are inspired by subcultural classics – the Harrington, the Bomber jacket and the Parka.
The Twin Tipped bomber jacket has contrast stitch detail pockets inspired by the original 1950’s Tennis Bomber. Small leather accessories have been Made in England. Ventile and Cordura fabrics feature across bags and a large Duffle bag has been introduced to the collection for long weekenders. Fred Perry Authentic is worn to be seen. The embroidered Laurel Wreath is a badge of honour.
