Maria Calderara continues to fuse languages in her FW 2026/27 collection, this spring she is inspired by the poetry of Tomaso Binga (Bianca Pucciarelli Menna, born in Salerno in 1931).

“Conceptually,” Calderara explains to us that she wanted to give , “the clothing line an extension of Binga’s artistic and intellectual exploration” which, since the 1960s, has utilized visual poetry, the body, and words to construct a politically charged practice that denounces the systemic exclusion of women in the art world.”

A collection that offers subtle and refined references allowing the artist’s works to engage in dialogue with the garments through elegant and skillful applications.
Calderara fashion for this collection is an illustration of Binga’s work in a didactic manner, its traverses it by adopting his methods: subtraction of meaning, rebellion against dogma, and the centrality of the body as a narrative tool.

The fusion of two worlds that unfold an open system in which each element is designed to be freely interpreted.
Volumes, materials, and colors overlap without hierarchy, offering constant possibilities for reinterpretation.

The garments, are passe partout, adjustable with laces and elastic. They are designed to adapt to different body types and postures. Alongside continuous solutions, such as puppet dresses, voluminous skirts, and unstructured, raw-cut coats, wide-leg pants with pockets introduce a new construction this season.
