Italian designer Milena Zu is the creative mind behind these jewel collections. Her contemporary mesh jewelry is the result of very long and organic process entirely woven by hand with simple crocheting tools.
This intricate weaving technique was used in the past to make gold woven jewelry encasing the most precious gemstones only for the Ancient Maharajas and Nobles of the Orient.
Now days the metals that Milena uses are silver, gold, copper, brass and stainless steal. She works with and through the power of colors and geometric grids and likes to combine with the weaving all sorts of materials such as gemstones, crystals, zircons, pearls, shells, recycled wood and hand made dichroic glass. Every piece of Milena Zu’s jewelry is designed by her and manufactured by her skillful artisans in the island of Bali, Indonesia.
Milena Zu has traveled extensively throughout Europe and Asia for many years studying Esoteric and Healing Arts. For the last 10 years she has lived on the island of Bali where she creates jewelry and practices healing arts.
