Sally Kaftan Design is a new brand that offers an interesting mix of East and West. It is inspired by the Handmade Kaftan Dresses launched by the end of 2012 by Salima Erref. She succeeded her line by extracting the Moroccan Kaftan from an ethnic perspective and presented it as a universal fashion garment.
Originally from the Kingdom of Morocco, Salima the founder, designer and driving force behind ‘’Sally Kaftan Design’’ left a well-established carrier in corporate finance to follow her passion in Moroccan Traditional Haute Couture. She grew up surrounded by the rich culture of her native country and influenced by a talented and inspirational family. Born to an architect father and a well-known tailor/designer grandfather, Salima inherited a skilled eye for design and artistry.
She started cultivating her knowledge inside her grandpa atelier where she spent most of her free time helping his handwork. Later after getting her degree in Finance, Salima was hired to oversee a multinational apparel company where she continued learning the fashion flair. She always expressed her creativity and love for fashion beauty and style in the self-made designs that she wore. “I always wear kaftans designed by myself and even when I buy a garment I always add an embellishment on it to personalize it ’’ she said.
Attached to her country, Salima was always thinking to create her own business that promotes its wealth culture. She decided to introduce the handmade Moroccan Kaftan rich in old fashion detail yet embraces a very distinctive and contemporary style. She lunched the 1rst website in all America showing and selling High quality of the Moroccan Kaftan.
Due to her artistic influence, Salima was always fascinated by other cultures. She loves travelling and meeting new people. Her visits to many different countries provided her a large source of inspiration and the ability to fuse the tradionnal garment handwork with the western and modern style.
Believing that every woman deserves the best, Salima captures the essence of each material to create lines that are sophisticated and unique. She seduces with the best quality of material and creates designs that reveal fine silhouettes.
