Peter  Tsang  creative director of Coeur “ Craftmanship and silk  fabric to cherish : this is the story of Coeur” !

Designer based in London, Peter graduated from the London College of fashion, where he actually does some lectures.  Fashion designs and  brand development  are his specialty. UFFP met him last June at the Labo Ethnik Fashion weekend. UFFP was media partner of the edition 2013 of Labo Ethnik Fashion Weekend. Behind the brand “Coeur” a gifted designer who believes in   promoting ancient ethical techniques from his Asian roots and incorporating them into men’s western fashion trends.

We particularly love the details and the “finesse” of his work,  Coeur is just the mix of the “bel ouvrage hand made” and the contemporary men’s look. Asia blending into Europe, is the secret of his success. Coeur creates mainly for men’s wear and has a predilection for silk work.

Focus on Coeur the brand and the designer behind it

1 Tell us about the brand “Coeur” ?  I like to work with silk and at the moment, I don’t believe anyone else is doing what I’m doing. Silk is my heritage coming from China and I’m using English couture techniques to mix it together and create my brand.

2 Coeur stands for your “labor of love” ? Yes and it stands for warming and passion. And mostly I wanted to create something long lasting that you would not throw away. Silk fabric you cherish and the craftsmanship as well.

3 Tell us of the manufacturing? The silk weaves are from England and it is 250 years old. I like to mix tradition and new experiments in the same time. Using lace weaves and fusing it in different influences and I use beautiful colors.

4 Any positioning in the World? My brand is known in India and the Middle East and of course Hong Kong and China and America as well.

5 Tell us about your being here in Paris. This is my first fashion show in Paris but I lived previously in France in Annecy as a student. I wanted to learn about the culture, the language, learn how people live. And this is how about the name of my brand came about.

6 Tell us about the spring summer collection for 2014? I have a wide range of silk jacquards and suits and accessories that match the men’s wear collection. A very contemporary look for men who like to be dans “l’air du temps” and yet  very elegant. A collection with lots of weaving traditional work.
