Only the creative Belgian Neighborhood in Cologne was the answer to the location issue: „For a pastel-colored boutique like this, the neighborhood is perfect.“ Just a couple of months ago, the trained advertising expert, Ivy Bossert, opened Tom & Hatty – a small boutique filled with passion and most certainly stylish fashion – in the middle of Cologne, Germany.
Next to sweets on tiny plates, fashionistas will find labels deliberately collected and nicely decorated from Scandinavia and France but also from Italy, Ireland and America. Coolness is brought through the label Hunkydory from Stockholm and the essential elegance is complimented by the Parisian label Manouche.
“The Scandinavians are good in design. They are uncomplicated and do not necessarily follow the latest trends. This is also reflected within their fashion which is cheerful, feminine and affectionate”, explains the 43-year old about her stock. Odd molly with cheer- and colorful knitwear from Sweden is placed next to the urban Danish label Edith & Ella, which is wonderfully nostalgically touched by the 50ies and 60ies, and by Ti Mo from Norway.
For purses, Ivy focuses on the traditional Italian label Gabs and Campomaggio but mixes it up with Elliot Mann, a New Yorker label, offering ethnic inspired eye-catchers.
Next to purses, you will find trendy knitted stockings from the Irish label Avoca. “I put a lot of effort into the label research to offer the best mix to my clientele”, she says.
Shoes are stylish and chic but can also be used for workdays in the office. No high heels, but comfortable shoes from Candice Cooper and Softclox can be found.
And of course, the up-and-coming t-shirt label the hip tees is not missing. And for the upcoming summer; fashionable, feminine dresses from Attic and Barn are already ordered.

Last but not least, the name Tom & Hatty from this sweet, little boutique in Cologne is inspired by the protagonist of an old English novel.
