Last week, the first Women’s Forum USA took place in Washington D.C, in partnership with Vital Voices Global Partnership. The famous event welcomed over 250 participants and the 2023 Youth Voices USA promotion.
Topics and conversations werE around 3 pillars : climate, health and peace. They have inspired all to continue efforts in the fight for a more inclusive and equitable world.
Yet, a long journey is still ahead of us. As Mahnaz Shirali, explained, an Iranian political scientist who is committed to freedom and who now lives in France because her life is threatened. Mahnaz showed some of the schoolbooks used in Iran today which show strong stereotypes such as the fact that it is supposedly better to be born a boy than a girl or that education can wait but not marriage.
Given theses circumstances, the Women’s Forum commits itself to ensure that all educational systems are levers for equality throughout the world: a school textbook that does not educate for equality is a child who will not grow up with the essential values we defend. Let’s #ChangeEducationEducateforChange!
Together we can create change !
