A 30- year art and design veteran long noted for her sophisticated, understated aesthetics, Dori began her career as fashion director for a major U.S retailer. After nine years in that position, she became VP of Product Development and Merchandising for a NYC based company specializing in women’s accessories.
Dori Rootenberg graduated with a major in Art History from Drew University and also holds a degree in Communications from the Fashion Institute of Technology.
She and her husband, Daniel Rootenberg, founded Jacaranda Tribal Art Gallery in 2005 after collecting traditional African art for 15 years. Jacaranda Tribal sells museum quality objects from Africa and Oceania to private collectors, museums, architects and designers in the US and internationally.
